Native American

34-year-old Justin Schneider of Anchorage, Alaska recently pleaded guilty to committing a heinous crime against a Native American woman, yet he’s getting off with a slap on the wrist.

CNN affiliate KTVA reported that Schneider — a former air traffic controller — recently pleaded to second-degree assault in the attack, in which he offered a Native American woman a ride, then proceeded to strangle her until she was unconscious and masturbate on her. Not only did he get away with not having to serve any jail time, but he won’t even have to register as a sex offender.

The attack began when Schneider saw the woman at a gas station, who was looking for a ride to the nearby town of Muldoon:

Schneider then stopped the SUV… and asked the victim to get out while he loaded items into the vehicle. Once she approached the rear of the vehicle, Sarber wrote, Schneider “full on tackled” her, shoving her to the ground. He then began to strangle her with both hands around her throat, telling her that he was going to kill her.

“She said she could not fight him off, he was too heavy and had her down being choked to death,” Sarber wrote. “(The victim) said she lost consciousness, thinking she was going to die.”

When the victim woke up, she told police, Schneider was rising from her and zipping up his pants. He offered her a tissue, which police later recovered as evidence.

Although a grand jury initially indicted Schneider on four felony charges, he was given the option to plead to just one felony count of second-degree assault, and given a two-year jail sentence with one year suspended. The judge allowed him credit for time served while he was living with his family. He will instead serve three years of probation.

“I would like the gentleman to be on notice that that is his one pass — it’s not really a pass — but given the conduct, one might consider that it is,” assistant district attorney Andrew Grannik said.

“This can never happen again,” Judge Michael Corey said, when accepting Schneider’s plea offer.

KTVA reported that not once in his plea statement did Schneider apologize for what he did to the Native American woman.

“I would just like to emphasize how grateful I am for this process,” Schneider said in the hearing. “It has given me a year to really work on myself and become a better person, and a better husband, and a better father, and I’m very eager to continue that journey.”

  1. This man is a FATHER. Someone who would pick up a total stranger in need of a ride, spontaneously try to kill her, and sexually violate her unconscious body has custody of a CHILD.

Alaska child protective services can be reached at 1-800-478-4444. Please join me in calling them and ordering in a welfare check on the vulnerable minor child or children in the home of this obviously abusive and violent predator.

  2. He has a kid(s)???!!! He needs to have no visitation, no contact, no nothing with them. …and how the HELL is he still married??!!!!

When he does this again (& maybe even murders next time) all the people involved (lawyers, judges, ……) with him not having any jail time and not having to register as a sex offender (which he clearly is) need to be jailed (maximum) for aiding and abetting/being an accomplice, being a part of the crime, ……

So beyond ridiculous, disheartening, disgusting, …..

  3. I wonder how this judge would feel if this had happened to his daughter or wife??? I bet you a million dollars that I don’t even have that he would have absolutely ruled differently and this man would be in jail. Not only does this story leave me wishing someone would assault this criminal piece of trash to the point that he no longer has external genitalia to ever hurt anyone with again but I can’t help but feel like the victim must have felt completely raped by the judge for treating her case this way. WHO are we supposed to trust anymore??? WHO are we supposed to depend on for justice??? WHO is strong enough, moral enough & unafraid to sit as judge and actually BE ONE??? Not judges like this one. He is a sorry excuse for one. He’s as bad as the idiot that also called himself a judge – Aaron Persky that let Brock Turner go with only a slap on the wrist for raping an unconscious girl while he was a freshman in college. Stanford, to be exact. These guys should all be sent to an island far away, never to be heard from again.

    1. I fully agree we as women must fight against the injustice of crimes against women

Look at the Crosby case was justice really served
All those sexual assaults most not recognized this was a serial rapes!!!!!!!

  4. The judicial system has always been corrupt. Im not surprised by this at all. The solution is simple. What this world needs is Frank Castle…

Im not kidding. We need someone who steps in when the worlds biggest failures fail…

  5. This man sounds like he is the next serial killer. It is a shame they let him off that easy. He will
Just kill the next victim so no one can testify against him. Something is wrong with the judge for letting him off. They should of seen this was just his first step. He is on the edge of a very violent abusive sexual crime spree.

  6. She should Appeal this decision ASAP. Ask for another judge too. There is No Justice in his decision. The guy even plead guilty! Put this guy in jail and let Karma take place in there lol

  7. This needs to be appealed on many levels
Why are men not required to face the consequences of their actions

    This is NOT reconciliation
This is a slap in the face to our First Nation Women
    Please appeal this decision
Get help from the chiefs etc
I understand it is not easy and that is what the courts expect is for women to just let it go

  8. Has anyone thought to check his dna against other previous unsolved sexual offenses or murders? Probably not. Too expensive and its just a native. Your judicial system is a joke. Its time we take care of our own. #streetjustice #streetkarma
